Spiders typically have eight legs and no wings or antennae. Some spiders like
moisture and are found in basements, crawl spaces and other damp parts of
buildings. Others like dry, warm areas such as subfloor air vents, upper
corners of rooms and attics. Spiders like to hide in dark areas and they
feed on insects. Spiders produce an egg sac and only two species are harmful
to humans in the United States. Sanitation is the best control measure for
spiders.
One common spider found in North Texas is the wolf spider.
